Shop Vac Fly Tying Tutorial

The Shop Vac nymph was an early confidence pattern for me. I didn’t really know why, but it just worked for me. Nothing has changed. It’s an easy tie and works great on smaller hooks.

The Recipe:
Hook: #16 Firehole 520 Jig Hook (I also like 18s and 20s)
Bead: 2.5mm Driftstone Slotted Tungsten Bead, Matte Black
Thread: Semperfli 12/0 Classic Waxed thread, Beige
Body: 4-5 Pheasant Tail fibers
Rib: .2mm Copper Semperfli Wire
Wing: White Semperfli Predator Fiber
Head Cement: Loon Water-based
