Duracell Nymph Fly Tying Tutorial

I find myself reaching for this fly whenever my confidence patterns stop working. For, whatever reason it’s a great cleanup fly for me. It’s a nice dark pattern with spark and a lot of movement from the CDC collar.

Maybe I should start with this fly first.

Hook: #12 Firehole 516 Jig Hook
Bead: 3.0mm Driftstone Slotted Tungsten Bead, Silver
Thread: Semperfli 12/0 Classic Waxed thread, Black
Wire: .3mm (.013”) Lead-Free Wire
Tail: Red Coc de Leon
Rib: .2mm Semperfli Tying Wire, Red (brassie)
Body: Semperfli Ice Dub, Starling
Collar: Black CDC feather
Head Cement: Loon Water-based
