Orange is a big confidence color for me. So when you combine a fluorescent orange collar and tag end with the action of the CDC soft hackle, you have a killer fly. I only offer this in size #14 because it always works for me. I’ve never felt like I needed to go smaller.
If you want something more natural grab the hares ear version. Sometimes they’ll take it over peacock bodied version.
The pink version is handy to have when they’ve seen a lot of orange and the bite has turned off. I’ll throw the pink on and the bite will often come back.
