Come for the fish, stay for the experience and leave with a story.

The Trips.

Let’s go on a trip together! We’ll hike back into water that few will ever see, so the fish are less pressured and we’ll have the river to ourselves. Very rarely do we see another angler.

We’ll be fly fishing primarily with a mono-rig leader system so we can do everything from tight line nymphing (euro) as well as indicator nymph, strip streamers, dry-dropper and even dry flies. It allows us to take the tight line advantage to all the major tactics and get more fish in the net.

I put a big emphasis on teaching, so bring your questions and plan on refining your cast. Don’t know where the fish are feeding or what’s going on with the bugs? Lets dig in it. I want everyone to leave a better angler and have a story and photos to tell.

The Day.

Bring up to 2 anglers.

All rods and tackle are provided: Rods, tippet and flies.

Full Day trips include a hot meal and snacks. We eat very well!

I’ll bring the camera and snag hero casting shots and gratuitous fish pics.

Anglers must bring appropriate clothing for sun, rain, waders, boots, wading staff, etc.

Full Day Trips $395 8hrs fishing + 1hr for lunch
Half Day Trips $295 4hrs fishing

The Water.

  • Upper Sac

There are nearly 30 miles of pristine river holding some of the best quality fish in California. The fish are bright, they’re big and they fight hard. Bring your a-game chasing wild fish nymphing and stick around for the evening hatches where the fish will take dries up on top.

  • Pit River

If you’re looking for the ultimate tight-lining river, this is it. This system is extremely healthy, holding huge numbers of fish per river mile. It has pocket water, runs and riffles that can be dissected under tight line. A great place to refine your tuck cast, build your confidence and catch big numbers of fish.

  • Hat Creek

A premiere spring creek that flows consistently cold water all year long providing a perfect habitat for insect life. Known for it’s prolific hatches, you can expect to find feeding fish so long as you can get your flies in the zone where the fish are lying. Usually against laydowns and in riffles.

The Accommodations.

If you’re travelling and need a place to stay, I highly recommend you find a riverside cabin from Mt. Shasta Vacation Rentals. They’re a local company that manages local homes. They have a huge selection that include everything from river front cabins to big homes that can sleep the whole extended family.
